By-wire vehicle control - an alternative to driving robots

Flex-0 provides the interface hardware to allow vehicles to be directly controlled by AB Dynamics leading path following and driverless control software, enabling driverless testing to be performed without robots other than a safety brake actuator. By removing mechanical robots, the system is more robust to the high impacts experienced during misuse testing, reducing the risk of hardware damage.

Flex-0 uses standard CAN control messages that vehicle manufacturers interpret to control their vehicles, significantly reducing hardware costs and setup time while maintaining the confidentiality of their drive-by-wire interface from third parties.

Suitable for automated vehicle testing, Flex-0 uses precise path following accuracy, and our Synchro technology can precisely recreate simulation scenarios for correlation and validation of autonomous vehicle control systems. For driverless testing, the addition of our S-Brake system provides secondary redundant safety in line with all of AB Dynamics driverless systems to ensure in the event of an issue the vehicle will automatically come to a stop.
